Bown Crossing
Bown Crossing is a lively plaza featuring local shops, restaurants, and experiences. Located a quick bike ride from Tesoro, this incredible East Boise treasure takes Boise’s best attributes and packs them into a small-scale community.
Known for its charming shops, quaint restaurants, and intimate streets, Bown Crossing teems with small-town friendliness and next-door neighbor comfort. At around eight city blocks, it’s comparatively smaller than other Boise subdivisions and neighborhoods. Still, its size doesn’t mean it lacks any charm or amenities. In fact, Bown Crossing’s modest area is one of its premiere qualities.
With South Bown Way splitting the residential and commercial sections down the middle, life in Bown Crossing means always being a minute’s walk away from brilliant boutiques, extraordinary eateries, and the beloved Boise River.
A trip to Bown Crossing means seeing giggling children on bikes, families enjoying a relaxed meal on a restaurant patio, and locals welcoming you like long-lost relatives. Whether you’re driving through or taking a detour from your stroll on the Boise Greenbelt, it’s worth experiencing the laid-back lifestyle that makes Bown Crossing so special.

- BOWN CROSSING PLAZA -
-TABLE ROCK HIKE-
Perhaps Boise’s most iconic hike, you can access this trail behind the Old Idaho Penitentiary in Boise’s East End neighborhood. While this popular hike is not for the faint of heart – the views are worth it. As you ascend, you first get a bird’s eye view of the Old Pen, and sweeping views of Boise beyond.
-WEST HIGHLAND VALLEY-
This trail is great for birding, hiking, and mountain biking, and it's unlikely you'll encounter many other people while exploring. The trail is open year-round and is beautiful to visit anytime. Dogs are welcome, but must be on a leash.
-OWLS ROOST TRAIL-
Owls Roost is a wide, flat trail that connects Boise’s Camel's Back Park in the North End to the Hulls Gulch trail complex, located up North 8th Street. Trees line the trail, lending shade and owl and raptor viewing opportunities. The trail also parallels a small creek with several small pools that kids (and dogs) love to play in.
